Maternity Services
Family-centered maternity care is the cornerstone of our Maternity Service Department.  Our nurses know that support and education are the building blocks that help give children the best possible start.  Babies may stay right in the same room as their mothers, and fathers can spend as much time there as they want, participating fully in the baby's care.
Preparing for Parenthood, CCMH offers a variety of classes to help moms, dads, brothers and sisters prepare for a new baby.

Family Centered Care (Pediatrics)
The philosophy of Family Centered Care is the idea behind our Pediatrics Department.  Since family closeness is especially important in a child's recovery, this department was designed to promote family involvement.  Patient rooms are designed to be more comfortable for parents who wish to stay with the child round-the-clock, with facilities for sleeping and showering provided. Visiting hours are flexible, so that the child feels less isolated from the rest of the family. Each room is brightly decorated and equipped with TV's, VCR's, video games and free cable (including the Disney Channel.) Four rooms are equipped with stereos and headphones.  A play area helps promote recovery through healthy diversion.  The family education center allows nurses to meet with parents to provide information on the child's condition and emotional support at difficult time.
