New year—new host Taking over for previous host Susan Galvin, Reinnie Leavitt has been a member of Camden-Clark for 15 years. She began at the hospital as a candy-striper. After graduating from high school, she attended CCMH’s radiology school and then spent a year at The Ohio State University getting her radiation therapy training. Currently she serves as chief radiation therapist for CCMH’s radiation oncology department.
Members of the community may recognize Reinnie from her many appearances as a professional singer. “I’ve been singing in churches since I was in grade school,” said Leavitt. Most recently, she’s performed professionally with the Williams Family gospel group at churches and various community events. As a member of the CCMH’s Community Comprehensive Cancer Center, Reinnie has been active with the local Relay For Life. In fact, she’s performed as a singer at the luminary ceremony each year. Reinnie is also a familiar fixture at the annual Housecalls and Hospice Lovelights tree lighting ceremony at Grand Central Mall. For many who attend the event, Reinnie’s heartfelt music brings a sense of peace and dignity to the occasion each year. TV viewers should be familiar with her visage as she’s also appeared in many of the hospital’s commercials over the past couple of years, serving as the face and voice of CCMH. Reinnie and husband, Jon, are the parents of two children: Carrie, age 8, and Joshua, age 2. Reinnie’s looking forward to the challenge of hosting the hospital’s TV show. “I’ve always been committed to contributing to the hospital in any way I can,” she said. “Hosting the show will give me the opportunity to share with the community the great people and outstanding services at Camden-Clark.”
