Childbirth Classes:
Prepare yourself for childbirth through Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital's Family Education Program. This seven-week series is designed to  help you and your family get ready for the arrival of a new baby.  The classes are taught by a qualified obstetrical nurse from the Special Delivery Unit at CCMH.  

Please call to register about eleven weeks prior to delivery date.  Classes are held Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday nights.  Registration is $25.00 or a West Virginia Medical Card.  To register on-line click here or call 304-424-2748.


Breastfeeding Classes:  
Taught by International Board Certified Lactation Consultant.

Get your breastfeeding experience off to a good start or learn if breastfeeding is right for you.  Attend the breastfeeding class at Camden-Clark.  This class features a video about breastfeeding and illustrates the latest breastfeeding information and techniques.  This is a two-hour class and is held one Saturday a month beginning at 10:00 a.m.  There is no charge for this class.  To register on-line click here or call 304-424-2748.



Sibling Classes:  Camden-Clark offers a Sibling Class to help prepare children for the arrival of a newborn brother or sister.  Children attending the class will:

  • Learn basic information about caring for a baby.
  • See a room like Mom will be in when she has the baby.         
  • View a video about being a big brother or sister.
  • See a new baby through the nursery window.
  • Make a craft to give the new baby.
  • Have a snack.

Classes are geared for children 2 years old or older.  The class is held one Saturday a month from 10:00 a.m. to noon.  Registration is $5.00. Children must be accompanied by an adult.  To register on-line click here or call 304-424-2748.


Infant safety & Infant & Child CPR:
Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital offers a Safety and CPR course for parents and caregivers of infants and children.  This course features a safety video and the American Heart Association's CPR for Family and Friends course.  Parents and caregivers will learn:

  • How to reduce the risk of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS)
  • How to prevent common injuries and choking in infants and children
  • Relief of choking in the infant
  • Infant CPR
  • Relief of choking in the child
  • Child CPR

This is a two hour class and is held one Saturday a month from 10:00 a.m. to noon.  Registration is $5.00.

Babysitting Clinic
Infant and Toddler care, child safety, playtime activities, safe sitting tips, first aid, CPR Training.
For ages 10-16 (girls & boys).
Registration fee: $25.00
(Includes materials, supplies, and lunch)
Location:  YWCA, Dudley Avenue.
Call 424-2846 to register.
Class is limited to 10, so register early.


Three-day Babysitting Camp
Infant and Toddler care, child safety, playtime activities, safe sitting tips, first aid, CPR Training, plus making a healthy lunch, interaction among infants, toddlers, children; diaper changing, feeding and playtime.
Camper must be12 years old (girls & boys).
Registration fee:  $80.00
(Includes materials, supplies, and lunch) Location:  YWCA, Dudley Avenue.
