| S.A.F.E. Means Silence Affects Family Everywhere |
S.A.F.E.'s Mission
We take a strong stand against family violence in the mid-Ohio Valley by promoting community awareness and education.
Domestic Violence
Defined as a pattern of coercive behavior which may include physical and sexual violence, threats, insults and economic deprivation, domestic abusers aim to gain and maintain power and control over the body, mind, spirit, lifestyle, and behavior of a partner.
Abuse is on the Rise
Domestic violence is on the rise in West Virginia and in this region. Nationally, there are over 4 million reported cases of domestic violence each year.
Anyone Can Become a Victim
In fact, both victims and batterers come from all walks of life, all races, ages, educational backgrounds and income groups.
Help is Available
If you are a victim or if you know someone who is being abused, S.A.F.E. can help. S.A.F.E. is the locally organized volunteer coalition initiated by Camden-Clark in 1996 to respond to the need for public awareness about domestic violence in the mid-Ohio Valley. Members of the S.A.F.E. coalition represent many local educational institutions, businesses and organizations.
We can show you where to get help, and together we can break the silence.
