Mammography
Camden Clark’s Mammography Department is accredited by the American College of Radiology and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). A certified technologist utilizing dedicated mammography equipment performs the exams. Camden Clark utilizes digital mammography for their exams. Because all images are now on computers, retrieval of images is much faster. Radiologists who interpret the images can manipulate them for a better interpretation. Digital mammography is especially ideal for seeing microcalcifications in women with dense breasts.

Stereotactic Imaging
For women who need a biopsy, Camden Clark is now using a stereotactic breast biopsy unit from Hologic. Using this less invasive procedure, the doctor is able to biopsy the lesion using a core biopsy needle, with little or no discomfort to the patient. The procedure is performed on an outpatient basis and requires no inpatient stay. If the core sample is negative, then routine follow-up is all that is needed.
