Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants in the Office Setting
There are many advantages to having a Nurse Practitioner (NP) and a Physician Assistant (PA) on staff in our office. Both the PA and NP assist the physician on clinic day by completeing history and physical examinations for all new patients and preparing patients for surgical procedures and admissions, as necessary. The NP's main focus is the office, and is available to see routine follow-up patients, post operative patients and any urgent problems that may arise. She will assess the patient, perform an exam, develop a plan, and contact the physician in consultation for orders, if necessary. Our Physician Assistant is trained and certified to assist in surgery with Dr. McGraw. The Physician Assistant and Nurse Practitioner also serve in a leadership role to assist the staff with questions, while maintaining their primary goal of patient advocacy and providing quality patient care.
