With the acquisition of St. Joseph’s Hospital and our affiliation with West Virginia United Health System – and with an eye on changes that will dramatically affect health care – the community leaders on our boards chose to reposition us from two community hospitals into one stronger medical center.

“We can deal with the coming challenges in health care,” said CEO Mike King at a press conference announcing the change. “But we can’t if we stand still. I look forward to a healthy, robust, creative partnership.”

We recognize that people will continue to refer to “Memorial” and “St. Joseph’s,” which is why we are retaining those names at both campuses. But we feel it is important to add the words to describe precisely what we have become – truly, a “medical center.” This affiliation will make Parkersburg a destination for healthcare services in this region.

The merger of our people and facilities into one high-tech, high-touch medical center positions us well for the future. We hope you like our new look. But we remind everyone that while our look may have changed, our mission has not. Our employees and physicians from both Camden Clark and St. Joseph’s pledge to continue our good work at Camden Clark Medical Center.
